Survey Results

1. I received about 15 survey responses before class ended.


2. Most people struggled to get all of their community service hours done. However, there was a mixed result when people were asked about if community service hours should be required.


3. Most people were happy to volunteer and it made them feel pride towards themselves, but they believe the amount of hours was too much.


4. The majority of the people who believed community service should be required were females. All of the males disagreed with an exception of a few.


5. I cannot pick one question because all of the answered varied and they were all helpful.


6. Somewhat. Most people answered honestly, but by the end of class when people were running out of time, they rushed on the open response questions.


7. The purpose of my survey was to find out what students thought about required community service freshmen year.


8. I could have done better with giving more choices for my open response questions.


9. Yes, I received the results I was expecting because many people answered honestly and there were a variety of questions.

Apprentice Overview

1. I do believe that the tasks assigned to both teams were a good test of leadership skills. For example, they tested them on real world tasks like advertising and raising money which they would have to eventually do everyday if they won the entire competition.

2. I do not think I would be a good candidate in the future only because I do not have the drive to win a competition based around business related activities.

3. A task that i would design would be planning a show or event. I would make the reward money so the winners can do whatever they want with it.

4. If I were Bill, I would choose running the golf course. This is because he already did a similar task and would have good background experience. Also, the scenery is beautiful and different than what he is used to back at home in the city. He would branch away from his hometown and learn a lot more new things.

5. I do not think that it was a bad that Kwame was selling signed basketballs outside of Planet Hollywood. It is not as if he was telling people that he was famous. However, they earned a lot of money from it which was all that mattered in the end.

6. I would recommend watching the Apprentice again in future Intro to Business classes because it allows students to see what some of the actual tasks you might need to complete are if you choose a career in business.

Cyber Monday/Black Friday

I feel like these days of shopping are overrated. Yes, the deals on Black Friday are great, but if people just wait a few more weeks the same deals are most of the time available. I do not think there is much of a reason to go shopping in the middle of the night besides the fact that it can be fun. However, I do agree that if someone is looking for one specific item for the holidays, this is a great time to target in on the best deals for this one thing. Most of the time a lot of the products are not available so people should shop quickly.

            Human resources throughout Google are giving people many opportunities. In the job analysis, openings include professions in software engineering, real estate & workplace services, developer relations, and technical infrastructure (etc...).
             I find it interesting that many of the jobs available are Software engineering positions. This is because there are so many different responsibilities within this one job such as developing effective test strategies and building next-generation web applications. 

5 Student Tips

While Viewing other students stock tips, I discovered that it would be best to invest in Google. This is because lately stocks have rose and I believe the price, although expensive, is worth investing into in order to make profit.

5. The Kellogg Company is involved with manufacturing and marketing convenience foods and cereals. This includes cookies, crackers, pastries, frozen snacks and frozen vegetables.

6. I would recommend this company because there is a steady increase in stock price in which I purchased 349 originally at a lower cost. This allowed me to earn more profit after the stock prices grew. I would suggest investing in a company similar to this.
